Josef John Bursik (Londra, 12 luglio 2000) è un calciatore inglese, portiere del Portsmouth.

Biografia

Di origini ceche da parte paterna, è il nipote di Josef Buršík, eroe della resistenza ceca durante la seconda guerra mondiale.[2]

Carriera

Club

Cresciuto nel settore giovanile dell'AFC Wimbledon, il 27 giugno 2017 viene acquistato dallo Stoke City[3][4]; in seguito trascorre brevi periodi in prestito con Hednesford Town[5] e Telford Utd.[6] Il 2 agosto 2019 passa a titolo temporaneo all'Accrington Stanley[7], prolungando poi il proprio contratto coi Potters fino al 2023.[8] Il 20 agosto 2020 viene ceduto al Doncaster[9][10], rimanendo col club biancorosso fino al mese di novembre, quando viene richiamato dallo Stoke City, alla presa con numerosi infortuni nel ruolo[11][12][13]; l'8 aprile 2021 si trasferisce al Peterborough United[14][15], mentre il mese successivo passa in prestito al Lincoln City per disputare i play-off di League One.[16][17]

Il 14 gennaio 2023 si trasferisce al Club Bruges.[18] Il 28 giugno 2024 viene ceduto in prestito all'Hibernian.[19]

Il 1º settembre 2025 viene ceduto al Portsmouth.[20]

Nazionale

Nel 2017 ha partecipato con la nazionale Under-17 inglese all'Europeo di categoria, concluso al secondo posto finale[21][22], e al Mondiale, vinto dalla compagine dei Tre Leoni.[23]

Nel 2021 è stato convocato con la nazionale Under-21 per l'Europeo di Ungheria e Slovenia[24], dove l'Inghilterra è stata eliminata nella fase a gironi.[25]
