The Bailey Collection

Dr. Margery Bailey (1891-1963) was a well-known professor of English at Stanford University who established the Institute of Renaissance Studies in Ashland. She willed her personal collection of books, which included 200 volumes published before 1750, to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The Bailey Collection came to Hannon Library in 1972 where it merged with our own Shakespeare and Renaissance collection. The Bailey Collection is located on the second floor of Hannon Library, with the rare, fragile, and valuable items residing in Special Collections and the rest of the collection in the stacks at the southeast corner of the building. You can also learn more about the Bailey collection by visiting the link below.
