A heavily overworked salaryman, Arihito Atobe, takes a nap on a bus headed to a corporate ski trip. The bus crashes and he is reincarnated into a world which revolves around adventuring in Labyrinths.

Arihito is to be a Seeker and is allowed to pick any 'job' - so long as he qualifies for it.
Eager to establish his own party, Arihito learns that the support position of rearguard, while dangerous, is very sought after by experienced Seekers. Rather than pick known rearguard jobs like Priest, Wizard or Marksman, Arihito simply writes 'Rearguard', and thus the adventure begins.
