Community Foundation

Education and Employment: As a club charitable organisation, we will deliver a range of activities and initiatives that are designed to support our community’s education, training, and employment from support of those that have educational needs to volunteering opportunities.

School Visits: By participating in school visits in Barrow, our players serve as positive role models both, promoting physical activity and essential life skills such as leadership and communication; whilst advocating and demonstrating the importance of education, hard work, and teamwork, through assisting and influencing educational workshops and lessons.

Health and Wellbeing Support: As a club charitable organisation, we will deliver a range of activities that are designed to specifically tend to improve the participants in the community’s physical health and mental wellbeing. These range from projects that are  implemented to encourage people to be more physically active to projects that stimulate social inclusion or mental health support.

Kellogg’s Summer Football Fun: The Kellogg’s Football festival is the best way, for girls and boys aged 7-14yrs at any skill level; having teamed up with the cereal giant Kellogg’s we will provide a great opportunity to support parents in entertaining their kids whilst keeping them active in the school summer holidays with a session hosted by qualified coaches.

Community Engagement and Development: As a club charitable organisation, we will deliver a range of activities that are designed to engage and aid development in the community: From fan competitions to flag bearing, we provide both matchday and non-matchday provisions to engage with the community. Strategically planned sessions to support the needs of groups within the community.

Thematic Session: Strategically planned sessions to address the wider needs and challenges faced within the community.

Flagbearers: On matchdays, we invite local youth teams to participate as flagbearers at our home fixtures. This special opportunity allows young athletes to experience the excitement of matchday up close, fostering a sense of pride and inspiration. By involving local youth, we aim to strengthen community ties and encourage the next generation of sports enthusiasts.

Fan Zone Fun: On match-days, our team offers an engaging alternative for children at the football. Open to all before kick-off and during half-time, you can find us in the Fan Zone. We provide a variety of games and activities, including Dot to Dot, design your own flag, Jenga, and Noughts and Crosses, ensuring fun for everyone.

Food Bank: Our club is deeply rooted in community values, and there is no better time than Christmas to reflect on how we can support those in need during the festive season. Therefore, The Bluebirds Trust, Barrow AFC, the club’s community team, and local schools united in an extraordinary collaboration to collect for the Barrow Food Bank, and you can find our Club collection point at our reception

We work closely with the football club to foster community engagement. Our programs encompass a wide range of activities, including extensive work in schools and collaborations with local agencies, charities, and organisations. We also support government initiatives aimed at promoting health and well-being, with sessions targeted at socially deprived areas.  Our initiatives are split between involving players, to use the power of football as the vehicle for education through school’s provisions, to collaborating with charities and community organisations in providing support for our communities in battling the challenges faced on a day-to-day basis, harnessing the power of football to influence positive change within the community.
