Pupil Premium is an additional payment made by the Department of Education to the school for each pupil in Year 10 and Year 11, that meets certain criteria. To be eligible, pupils must meet one of the following criteria:
Be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) or have been receiving FSM in any of the last six years.
Looked after by the local authority
Children of armed services personnel
The Government believes that the Pupil Premium funding, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches those students who need it most.
As part of the funding agreement between Global Academy and the Department for Education, the Academy must publish information relating to Pupil Premium funding on its website.
